This Privacy Policy describes how Vixa Ride Corp. and its affiliates (collectively, "Vixa Ride," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, process, and disclose your personal information in connection with providing the Vixa Ride Platform. The Vixa Ride Platform includes our mobile applications, websites, and other products and services (collectively, the "Vixa Ride Platform"). This policy applies to all users of our Vixa Ride Platform, including riders ("Riders") and drivers (including individuals who apply to become drivers) ("Drivers").

We are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. Please read this policy carefully to understand our privacy practices.

Scope of this Policy

This policy applies to all users of Vixa Ride, including Riders and Drivers (and individuals who apply to become Drivers), as well as the entire Vixa Ride platform and services, including our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Vixa Ride Platform"). This policy applies only to personal information, and not to aggregated information or information that does not directly identify you. Please note that your use of the Vixa Ride Platform is also subject to our Terms of Service. Certain elements of the Vixa Ride Platform may be subject to separate or additional terms or practices; if this is the case, you will be informed accordingly.

In accordance with applicable privacy laws in Canada and Ontario:

We collect different types of personal information when you use our Vixa Ride Platform:

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Your Account. When you create an account with Vixa Ride, Vixa Ride collects the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and payment information. You may choose to share additional information with us for your profile, such as your favorite addresses. At the time of account creation and thereafter, we may ask you to provide additional account identification information, such as a form of identification (e.g., driver's license) or a profile picture.

  • Driver Information. If you apply to become a Driver, we will collect the information you provide in your application, including your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile picture, physical address or government identification number (such as your Social Insurance Number), as well as details regarding your driver's license (including your gender), your vehicle, and your auto insurance. In addition, we collect the payment information you provide to us, including your bank routing numbers and tax information. Depending on where you wish to drive, we may also ask you to provide additional information about your business operating license or other information for the purposes of managing driving and applicable programs in that location.

  • User Content. When you rate and comment on the Vixa Ride Platform (including Riders or Drivers), we collect any information provided in your comments and ratings. When you communicate with us, including for customer support, surveys, or research projects, we collect any information you provide, including the content of messages or attachments you send us. Users may also have the option to send us audio and video content via the Vixa Ride application, for example, to report an issue or provide feedback.

B. Information We Collect When You Use the Vixa Ride Platform

  • Location Data. The Vixa Ride Platform collects location data, including an approximate estimate as well as precise location via GPS and WiFi data, IP address, and other location data that you choose to share with us. The way we process this information varies depending on the settings enabled on your Vixa Ride application and the permissions you grant your device, as well as whether you are using the platform as a Rider or Driver:

    • Drivers: We collect the precise location of your device when you open and use the application, including when the application is running in the background. We may also collect this data for a limited period after you have exited driver mode to detect potential incidents that occurred during a ride and until a reported or detected incident is no longer active.

    • Riders: We collect the precise location of your device when you open and use the Vixa Ride application, including when the application is running in the background, from the time you request a ride until the end of the ride. You may also choose to allow us to collect the precise location of your device by explicitly enabling certain features or products.

  • Device Information. We collect technical details about the devices you use to access the Vixa Ride Platform. This information may include the device model, your IP address, browser type and version, operating system version, your telecommunications service provider and device manufacturer identification, the type of mobile network you are using (e.g., 4G), your language preferences and settings, the list of applications installed on your device, unique device identifiers and advertising identifiers, as well as tokens necessary for sending push notifications. If you are a Driver, we also collect data from your device's sensors, such as speed, direction, acceleration, and deceleration.

  • Exchanges Between Riders and Drivers. In order to facilitate the coordination of rides without compromising the confidentiality of personal phone numbers, Vixa Ride uses a third-party technical solution to manage calls and text messages between Riders and Drivers. As part of these exchanges via our platform, we collect information such as the phone numbers involved, the date and time of the communication, as well as the content of written messages and text conversations. This data is collected to ensure the proper functioning of the service and for security purposes. In addition, to ensure the quality of our services, we may listen to or record phone calls made through the Vixa Ride Platform, in which case you would be informed beforehand.

  • Contacts from Your Address Book. You may have the option, via your device settings, to grant Vixa Ride access to your contact list and instruct us to access it for the purpose of facilitating certain features, such as helping you invite friends to join Vixa Ride. If you choose to enable this feature, we will access the names and contact information of the individuals in your address book.

  • Calendar Access. Depending on the permissions you configure on your device, you may allow Vixa Ride to access your calendar or otherwise provide access to it, in order to benefit from optional features. For example, we may send you reminders to schedule a ride based on events recorded in your calendar. If you enable this access, we will collect and store your calendar information to provide you with these features. Vixa Ride will respect the policies of applicable calendar providers, which provide certain limitations on the use of data collected from users' calendar accounts. You can revoke Vixa Ride's access to your calendar accounts at any time, either through the application or in your account provider's settings.

  • Use of Cookies, Analytics Tools, and Third-Party Technologies. We collect and use information through "cookies," web beacons, data analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), software development kits, and other third-party tracking technologies, both within and outside the Vixa Ride Platform. These technologies help us understand how you navigate and interact with our platform and our advertisements. They also contribute to enhancing the security of your experience with Vixa Ride, identifying popular content, improving our services, offering you and others more relevant advertisements, and remembering your preferences.

  • Inferences. By analyzing your interactions with the Vixa Ride Platform and other personal information we hold about you, we may draw certain conclusions or inferences. For example, if you frequently book rides to or from the airport, we may infer that you travel often. Similarly, we may estimate your approximate location from your precise location. Furthermore, the information you provide to us, such as your first name, may allow us to infer your gender. These inferences help us personalize your experience and improve our services.

C. Information We Collect from Other Sources

​

  • Service Providers and Other Entities. We receive information from various service providers and other entities that help us ensure the essential operation of the Vixa Ride Platform and offer you services, programs, loyalty benefits, and promotions that may enhance your experience with Vixa Ride. These partners notably include background check service providers, financial institutions, marketing agencies, and insurance companies. The information we obtain from these third parties may include:

    • Data aimed at strengthening the security of the Vixa Ride Platform, such as the results of background or identity checks.

    • Information regarding your participation in third-party programs offering, for example, insurance guarantees and financial instruments, such as data relating to insurance, payments, transactions, and fraud detection.

    • Information necessary for the operation of loyalty programs, applications, services, or promotional features that you choose to link to your Vixa Ride account, such as details about your use of these offers.

    • Information about you from specific services, such as data about your vehicle or your demographic profile, as well as other information that helps us personalize our services or our marketing activities.

  • Business Offerings. If you use Vixa Ride through your employer or another organization participating in our Vixa Ride for Business solutions, we may collect information about you from these entities, such as your name and professional contact details.

  • Third-Party Bookings. It is possible that another company or organization may book a Vixa Ride on your behalf. If an entity uses our third-party booking service, it will provide us with your contact information as well as the departure and arrival locations of your trip.

  • Referrals. If someone refers you to the Vixa Ride Platform, we will collect information about you from that referral, including your name and contact information. Conversely, if you refer another person to Vixa Ride, we will inform them of your referral. In addition, if another user has referred you, we may share certain information regarding your use of the Vixa Ride Platform with that person, for example, to inform them that you have joined our service or that you have completed a certain number of rides, as part of the referral program.

  • Other Users and Sources. In certain situations, other users of the Vixa Ride Platform or external sources, such as law enforcement, insurance companies, media representatives, or witnesses (such as pedestrians), may provide us with information about you. This may occur, for example, in the context of an investigation into an incident or in order to offer you assistance.

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Vixa Ride Platform. We use your personal information to offer you a seamless, user-friendly, efficient, and relevant experience on our platform. This includes using your information to:

    • Verify your identity, manage your account, and configure your settings and preferences.

    • Connect you with rides and track the progress of your trips.

    • Offer you various offers within the Vixa Ride Platform, including promotional advertisements from third parties that may be personalized based on your interests.

    • Calculate fares and earnings, and process payments.

    • Allow Riders and Drivers to connect and share their location with each other as part of a ride.

    • Communicate with you regarding your use of the Vixa Ride Platform and your experience with our services.

    • Collect your feedback to continuously improve our services.

    • Facilitate the offering of complementary services and programs in collaboration with third-party partners.

    • Organize contests, sweepstakes, and other promotions.

  • Security of the Vixa Ride Platform and its Users. Your safety is our top priority, both during your trips and when interacting with our applications. That's why we use your personal information to:

    • Authenticate users and verify their identity.

    • Ensure that Drivers and their vehicles meet our safety standards.

    • Investigate incidents, accidents, and insurance claims, and take measures to prevent and resolve them.

    • Review and prevent theft, vandalism, and misuse of our system.

    • Promote responsible driving and prevent dangerous behavior.

    • Detect and prevent fraud.

    • Block and remove users from the Vixa Ride Platform who pose a risk or are involved in fraudulent activities.

  • Development and Maintenance of the Vixa Ride Community. We want Vixa Ride to play a positive role within the community we serve. To this end, we use your personal information to:

    • Inform you of relevant events, promotions, civic initiatives, and campaigns.

    • Offer you targeted and personalized content, experiences, communications, and advertisements to promote and develop the Vixa Ride Platform.

    • Allow you to make donations through the Vixa Ride Platform if this feature is offered.

  • Customer Support. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience, which includes providing effective support when you need it. That's why we use your personal information to:

    • Review and resolve any questions or problems you may encounter regarding the Vixa Ride Platform.

    • Provide assistance, answer your questions, and address your concerns.

  • Improvement of the Vixa Ride Platform. We are constantly striving to improve the Vixa Ride Platform and develop new useful features. To do this, we use your personal information to:

    • Conduct research, experimentation, and analysis activities.

    • Develop new products, partnerships, services, and features.

    • Prevent, detect, and correct bugs and software or hardware issues.

    • Monitor and improve our operations and processes, including our security practices, algorithms, and models.

  • Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Obligations. There may be instances where legislation, government agencies, or other regulatory bodies impose certain obligations on us in connection with the services we offer. In such situations, we may use your personal information to comply with these requirements.

  • Marketing and Advertising. In order to promote the growth of the Vixa Ride Platform and inform you of partnership opportunities that may interest you, we use your personal information, including information we infer about you or receive from marketing partners, to conduct marketing and advertising activities for Vixa Ride and for third parties. These communications and advertisements may be personalized based on your preferences and usage history, and may include, for example, your approximate location (observed or inferred) and your ride history.
